Installation and Maintenance Points of Mine Fiber Optic Junction Box
As a key supporting equipment for the underground communication system in mines, the standardization of installation and scientificity of maintenance of the mine fiber optic junction box directly affect the stability of optical fiber signal transmission, and are related to the normal operation of mine production scheduling and safety monitoring. Combined with the special working conditions of high humidity, heavy dust, strong impact and high gas underground in mines, clarifying its installation and maintenance points is the core to ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
The installation points must follow the principles of "safe adaptation, standardized operation and in-place protection". First of all, the installation location should avoid dangerous areas such as underground water drenching, gas accumulation and mechanical impact, and priority should be given to dry, flat and vibration-free locations, while reserving sufficient maintenance space. During installation, it is necessary to ensure that the junction box is firmly fixed, and it is installed close to the roadway wall with special fixing parts to prevent the box body from loosening and optical fiber breakage caused by vibration. Secondly, the optical fiber splicing and access must be standardized: the splicing part should be accurately aligned and tightly encapsulated, and the redundant optical fiber should be stored in an orderly manner to avoid winding and pulling; the interface connection should be properly sealed, and the seals should be tightened to prevent water vapor and dust from entering the box body. Finally, after the installation is completed, a signal test must be carried out to confirm that the optical signal transmission is normal and free of attenuation before it can be put into use.

The maintenance points focus on "regular inspection, timely troubleshooting and protection upgrading". Daily maintenance requires regular cleaning of dust and debris on the surface of the box body, inspection of the sealing performance of the shell, and timely replacement if the seals are found to be aged or damaged. Regularly check the optical fiber splicing points and interfaces, troubleshoot potential problems such as loose optical fibers and signal attenuation, and timely reinforce or re-splice them.
In addition, it is necessary to do a good job in moisture-proof and explosion-proof inspections to avoid water ingress and moisture inside the box body, and regularly perform anti-rust treatment on the box body; in view of the harsh underground environment, regularly check the anti-vibration and buffer structure, and timely handle hidden dangers such as equipment wear and deformation. At the same time, establish a maintenance account to record the installation, inspection and maintenance status, ensure the orderly development of maintenance work, and provide a reliable guarantee for the underground mine communication safety.
