Explosion-proof electrical equipment operates long-term in high-risk explosive environments such as chemical plants, oil and gas sites, and dusty workshops. Once the equipment seals, shell structures or wire connections become aged or loose, the explosion-proof performance will be directly compromised, potentially leading to safety accidents. Strict implementation of daily maintenance specifications can ensure continuous and stable operation of explosion-proof electrical equipment, effectively avoid explosion hazards and extend service life, which serves as a vital part of enterprise safety production management.

Routine inspection is the foundation of explosion-proof maintenance. Operators shall regularly check the integrity of the equipment shell, confirming no cracks, deformation or impact damage on the housing, and no corrosion, scratches or paint peeling on explosion-proof joint surfaces. Meanwhile, verify that sealing rings and gaskets are intact without aging, hardening, cracking or falling off, so as to guarantee tight overall sealing and prevent flammable and explosive gas or dust from penetrating into the equipment. Shut down the equipment immediately for replacement if shell damage or seal failure is found.

Maintenance of electrical connections and circuits is critical. Tighten terminal blocks and cable joints regularly to avoid poor contact, looseness, heating and sparking. Check whether cable sheaths are intact, free of breakage, extrusion and aging. Cable entry devices shall be pressed and sealed securely. Unauthorized rewiring and messy wiring are prohibited. For long-running equipment, inspect the wiring chamber for dust accumulation and moisture, and clean it in time to keep dry and clean.

Cleaning and environmental maintenance cannot be ignored. Remove dust and dirt on the surface of explosion-proof electrical equipment periodically to prevent dust accumulation and overheating ignition. Keep good ventilation around the equipment without blockage by sundries. It is forbidden to drill, weld or privately modify the structure on the surface of explosion-proof equipment, or arbitrarily remove explosion-proof accessories and block pressure relief structures, which would invalidate the explosion-proof grade.

Enterprises shall establish regular maintenance records, test equipment temperature, insulation performance and grounding resistance on schedule, and replace expired seals and aged cables promptly. In case of abnormalities such as abnormal noise, overheating and electric leakage, power supply must be cut off immediately for maintenance. Standardized daily maintenance can preserve the explosion-proof performance of equipment continuously, eliminate industrial explosion risks from the source and ensure long-term safe and stable production in the plant.
