Butt Weld Flange

The butt weld flange and the necked flat weld flange cannot be distinguished. Today, let me introduce the differences between them to you.

Different weld forms: The weld of flat welding cannot be inspected by radiographic testing, while the weld of butt welding can. The welding seam form between the pipe and the flange of the necked flat weld flange is fillet weld, while the welding seam form between the necked butt weld flange and the pipe is girth weld; flat welding is two fillet girth welds, and butt welding is one butt girth weld. The difference between the necked flat weld flange and the non-necked flat weld flange is that the necked flat weld flange has one more welding part at the pipeline welding part than the non-necked flat weld flange. The non-necked flat weld flange is also a flat flange, and there is no flange boss and it is also a fillet weld. The weld between the necked butt weld flange and the connecting pipe belongs to Class B seam, and the weld between the necked flat weld flange and the connecting pipe belongs to Class C seam. The nondestructive testing after welding is different.
